Hey all ♥

My hiatus is going well - I've been resting and planning and then planning some more and I wanted to give you guys an update on the situation.

First, I've just discovered that the initial email I sent out to everyone through the membership software didn't make it to many of you. I've individually contacted a few subscribers and they assured me that they did receive my email, but I never received the confirmation copy that I typically receive when I mass email and I've spoken to several of you who did not receive it.

I wanted to take a minute to apologize to you for the miscommunication and to talk about my plans for the website, going forward. Some of you were mid-cycle when I went on hiatus and had a few weeks subscription left. I don't think any of you had more than three weeks, though, and if you did, please email me directly (pixxit at gmail) so that I can refund you. If you prefer, I'd be happy to offer you a free download or copy of either Emotion Sickness or Beautiful Disaster or you can receive a free download of the third - and final - book in the series when it's completed.

I want to talk about the website, now, and why I felt I needed to step away from it for a bit. Writing is and has always been my passion in life. It's my therapy, my outlet, the best way for me to share my love of the craft with an audience who appreciates the type of stories I like to tell. That will never change. Running this website and making the contacts that I've made and learning a bit about the publishing business has been a wonderful experience for me and I will be able to take what I've learned and use it positively in my future endeavors.

But the bottom line is that - whether I'm writing professionally or just kicking around in fandom and having a good time - the most important thing to me is that I am made happy by the work that I do and, in doing so, that I bring happiness to the people who read my work. Fortunately (or perhaps, unfortunately) I don't measure success by financial profit and, perhaps even more unfortunately for me, obligation is very much a detriment to my creativity. There are a couple of pay-to-read websites out there similar to mine and I - from time to time - check them out to help measure my own growth and marketability. What I have learned, and what is really upsetting to me, is that there is a huge focus on quantity and less of a focus on quality. Can these people write for you on a regular basis? Yes. Will it always be good? Probably not. The possibility that I might one day be obligated to turn out the same, stale, recycled crap week after week horrifies me - and so I made a conscious decision to do whatever it took to make sure that never happened.

The bottom line is that this hiatus IS temporary and I HAVE NOT abandoned the story lines you guys have come to appreciate and enjoy. These characters are my babies - they're my creations - and to abandon them has never even crossed my mind. When I open the website back up, I'm making the serial stories public access and while I will not be updating every other weekend like clockwork, I will be updating frequently. I will also continue to offer my books on the website, but those items will be the only items available for purchase. I'm not interested in merchandising, I'm not interested in prints, posters, etc. - I'm interested in writing. I'm interested in affecting people's emotions and offering them stories and characters that are thought-provoking and memorable. And that's what I intend to continue to do. :)

I've been approached for some scriptwriting for a couple of graphic novel projects (unrelated to VXY) that are due to start in the next year and a half and I've been working on the third installment of Emotion Sickness, as well as several new novellas that I intend to make available next year at Yaoi-con. I won't go into the details of all my professional endeavors, because some of them don't relate to VXY, but I am hard at work and that's the point I'm attempting to make.

Thank you for all the emails and continued support and I do sincerely apologize for the miscommunication regarding this very necessary hiatus. I have loved writing for you guys over the past couple of years and that hasn't changed.

~Kim

Hey guys ~ The next chapter of Heimkehr will be up tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. I'm not feeling well at all and am not willing to rush this chapter just for the sake of time. :(
